Lime HD, the leading streaming OTT TV service developer, has added online cinema functionality to the Lime HD TV and Lime Premium apps.
"The VOD market is growing rapidly worldwide. For 2020, the number of online cinema users increased by 26% to 1.1 billion. The total market reached $68.8 billion in 2020, an increase of 23%. The development of our products does not stand still, striving to keep up with modern technology," said Alexander Nazarov, the company's lead analyst.
The project is implemented in cooperation with leading online cinemas Start and Megogo. The content library includes more than 11 thousand titles and more than 70 thousand units of content.
"In September 2021, we completed a major project of integration into the online cinema into the apps and provide users with the ability to watch TV and movies in one service. Hundreds of thousands of users have already installed the new versions of the apps and are actively using the expanded functionality. The updates will soon be available for other platforms as well. We will continue to actively develop the service in accordance with feedback from app users," said Elena Ivanova, director of Lime HD.
The company plans to add to its content offering through strategic partnerships with other online cinemas and rights holders, under which Lime HD will gain rights to use content from libraries of feature, documentary and fiction films that are not previously aired by the broadcaster.
